WRFT Newsletter September 2024

The latest newsletter provides a summary of Trust activity and some related stories from March 2024 to September 2024 and can be found here

The weather was mixed with much rain during summer months. There were many reports of large whales feeding on krill in the Minch nearby. Sea trout were monitored to record numbers of parasitic sea lice at sites from the River Kanaird estuary to Applecross. There is renewed interest in reviving a wild salmon population in the Bruachaig river headwaters, part of the River Ewe system.

Wester Ross remains an important area for conservation of wild salmon populations and wild trout populations and for associated ecosystems and habitats.

Thankyou to all our helpers and to estates and supporters for enabling much work to be undertaken. Please contact the Trust if interested in supporting our work, membership and / or participating in forthcoming activities.
